Other Supplies:
Piece of batting 44" x 44", matching thread, clear plastic template material, black permanent marker (for marking on
template plastic), invisible nylon thread, wonder under or other paper backed fusible web.
About Kaleidoscope Quilts:
Kaleidoscope quilts rely on mirror images to create designs. For that reason, how your finished quilt will look depends
on the motifs you select. You can "audition" motifs before cutting your fabrics: select a motif and place your clear
plastic template over it. Once you are satisfied with the placement, hold a small hand mirror perpendicular to the side of
the template you wish to match. You will be able to preview how the shapes will look when joined together.
The Symmetry fabric was designed with mirror images, so your choices are unlimited! Please note that because you
will be "fussy" cutting motifs, extra yardage has been added to the instructions.
TIP: Use clear plastic template material to make your templates. Once you have isolated the motifs you wish to use,
mark some identifying guidelines on the template, so you will be able to locate the exact mirror image for your next
fabric cut.
