Star of the West
Assemble Block:
- Sew pattern piece B to A between dots on each of 5 sides. Begin and end stitching 1/4" in from edge.
Add piece C to block between pattern pieces B. Match dot at piece A. Begin and end stitching 1/4" in from edge. Make 16 blocks. Set aside.
- Join all 4 pattern pieces D to form a square.
- Sew sections from steps 1 and 2 together, easing in fullness. Alter the angle of the star within the circle for a few of the blocks. Refer to photo of the quilt.
- Stitch 1-3/4" x 9" strips to top and bottom of each square using random combinations of fabric to make 16 blocks.
Stitch 1-3/4" x 11-1/2" strips to sides of each square using random combinations of fabric to complete 16 blocks.
