From way back when she was a student in Philadelphia, Michele experimented with all sorts of creative outlets: weaving, drawing, painting, etc. But there was one medium that she truly embraced and that was silk screening. Michele loved designing, coloring and silk-screening on her own 3 yard cuts of fabric. She learned how to make her own frames, stretch the silk, transfer the designs and press the paint through the screen with a "squeegee".

It was the 70's, the early days of "Marimekko" and she was very much inspired by the big, bold shapes, the bright colors and rich canvases. Ultimately, her dream was to live and work in New York designing textiles and for the last 30 years, she has been fortunate enough to do just that: first for women's apparel and now for quilters and crafters. Her goal now is to extend that dream by including manufactures in the stationary, china, gifts, bedding, and apparel industries.

Her sources of inspiration have varied greatly from those early days. Most people will say that inspiration can come from virtually anywhere and though this is true, for me, no source has been more profound than owning and loving my dogs “Noel" and "Luca". They have been an endless source of wonderment and fascination, constantly igniting and unleashing (no pun intended) my creative spirit.
