John Flynn
What a neat group of fabrics! If you've ever been to a major quilt show,
you have probably seen John Flynn demonstrating his unique Flynn Frames. An
engineer by trade, John designed a special quilting frame for his wife,
Brooke. In the process of designing it, he got bitten by the quilting bug,
and has been designing quilts AND frames ever since... |

Kaye England
When we sat down to describe Kaye England, we wondered where we would begin. She’s a quilter, a teacher, an author and the owner of 3 quilt shops in Indianapolis. But that didn’t describe the person, a woman with so many interests and so many talents. Then it dawned on us! Kaye could be described as an exquisite patchwork quilt; many layered; multi-dimensional, full of surprises and a treasure to observe.... |

An interview with Mary Lou Weidman
Mary Lou Weidman, author, teacher and quilter does much more than teach people to quilt. Her whimsical approach to quilting has taught her students two important lessons: to trust their own instincts and to tell their own stories. These lessons have resulted in wonderfully original story quilts and wallhangings. Mary Lou has been quilting for over 30 years. She lives near Spokane, Washington, with husband Mark. She and Mark have three children and two grandchildren. We also have a page of Mary Lou's books including two titles from C&T: "Whimsies and Whynots," and "Quilted Memories." She has numerous other books and patterns from Marylouquiltdesigns.com |

The American Quilt
Since September 11th, we've all come to newly appreciate the freedom of life in America. We put our thoughts into a tee shirt that simply said "We are all a part of the American quilt." The profits from the tee shirts were sent to a September 11th fund, and each person who bought a shirt was given a fabric strip to sign. Quilters from all over the country signed their strips and sent them to our New York offices.
One year later, with the expert craftsmanship of Gayle Camargo, we pieced all the strips together and created TWO queen size quilts in commemoration of September 11th.
