Kaye England Kaye England

When we sat down to describe Kaye England, we wondered where we would begin. She’s a quilter, a teacher, an author and the owner of 3 quilt shops in Indianapolis. But that didn’t describe the person, a woman with so many interests and so many talents. Then it dawned on us! Kaye could be described as an exquisite patchwork quilt; many layered; multi-dimensional, full of surprises and a treasure to observe.

Her love of history and the role of women in history, makes her the perfect candidate for this issue of Benartex on Line, because March is Women in History month. (Kaye’s “Voices of the Past: A History of Women’s Lives in Patchwork” is a wonderful two volume book with biographies, photos, and quilt blocks celebrating women in history). Her new fabric collection, “Gothic Grace,” takes its inspiration from the textiles that were so favored by our foremothers. So come take a journey in time as we explore the books and fabrics of this dynamic quilter/designer. We also have two free patterns available from Kaye: The Louisa May Medallion and the Four Patch Strippy.
